Lander- West Rawlins Game Warden Teal Joseph is seeking information on a spike elk taken illegally near the intersection of the Luman Road and Tipton Road in Elk Hunt Area 100 over the weekend of Oct 22nd.
On October 27, I discovered a spike elk that was shot and left to waste, and next to the carcass were remnants of a gut pile. It appears that whoever shot the spike, or someone in their hunting party, may have shot an additional elk that they did take from the field. Teal continues, I collected some evidence from the scene but additional information from the public would be helpful to my investigation.
Anyone with information on this wildlife violation may call the Stop Poaching Hotline at (877) WGFD-TIP, online at wgfd.wyo.gov, in a text message to TIP411 (using keyword WGFD), or by calling Teal directly at (307) 328-0313. Reporters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward up to $5,000 if the information leads to a conviction.
