Western Economy Benefits From Hunting, Fishing on Public Land

The Western region of the U.S. gained a $3 billion economic boost in 2016 from hunting, fishing and wildlife-watching visits on land overseen by the Bureau of Land Management, according to a recent report.
The study, conducted by Southwick Associates and released by a number of organizations including The Pew Charitable Trusts, evaluated wildlife-related recreation in 12 Western states: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
