As you drive along Highway 287, you will see a two mile stretch of stratified volcanic cliffs come into view. Upper and Lower Jade Lakes sit under these 1000 foot high cliffs and the gray stonewall backdrop is reflected into the waters. Follow U.S. 26/287 24 miles northwest of Dubois, turn right (north) on USDA Forest Service Road 515 for 5 miles and walk approximately 3 miles to lake.
