Lake Cameahwait, also known as Bass Lake, is owned by the Bureau of Reclamation and managed by Wyoming Game & Fish. Lake Cameahwait Dam is on the Cottonwood Drain Draw River in Fremont County and was completed in 1973. The dam is of earthen construction. with a height of 13 feet and a length of 1000 feet. Getting there:
Follow Wyoming Highway 789 for 5.5 miles west of Shoshoni to County Road 430 (Bass Lake Road) and turn right (north) and travel about 8.6 miles. Turn right on West Shoreline Drive and follow it for 2 miles to the lake.
