Boysen Reservoir was created by Asmus Boysen in 1908 with the building of a dam in the Wind River Canyon. He also created a power plant at the site. The power plant was destroyed by a flood in 1923 and the dam was replaced in1951. The result is a 20 mile long lake of 19,500 acres providing fishing, boating and other water activities.
