Rob Roy Reservoir was created by the construction of dam located on Douglas Creek. This reservoir provides water for the city of Cheyenne and is used for recreational purposes. Douglas Creek was once a very popular and productive stream for finding placer gold. One of the most productive areas is now covered by the reservoir.
From Laramie, WY, take State Rt. 130 west 21.7 miles to State Rt. 11.
Turn left onto Rt. 11 and go 13 miles to Albany, WY.
From Albany, take Forest Rt. 500 (dirt) for 5.6 miles to campground sign.
Turn left at sign and go 0.3 miles to campground.
