Lake Hattie kokes?

Post By: walleyed66      Posted: 1/11/2019 11:55:34 AM     Points: 105
Hi I am wondering if anyone would share if they target kokes on the ice and if they are successful?

i couldn't keep them off my hook when I was there last friday. i'd look shallow by the ramp or the outlet on the dam, any number of lures should work. might even find a big rainbow

Thx ! Great fish!! Especially the rainbow!!! I went Saturday and fished in 30 fow. I had fish come in at different depths all day and had a couple of hits but missed them. I am trying to target the silvers (prespawn age) kokes. I had a great day out but caught the skunk. Maybe next time!

Wow, nice bow. Any measurements on that fish? It looks massive.

after measuring the rod in the picture that fish is somewhere around 26"

Looks like it wouldn't fit through your ice hole haha.

Excellent fish.

I agree looks like the fish wouldn't fit through the hole shown in the picture.

dam, Doodbro.
You may need a bigger auger.

I showed up late on 2/2 after fishing through Walden because I saw that 8lb tournament winning trout.
The afternoon bite in our area was slow. Didn't mark anything cruising off the gravel beds at all.

I wanted to ask anyone else who targets Kokanee on occasion-
Lake Dillon in Summit County, CO has some awesome Kokanee catching through December if you want to fill a smoker. Would the same tactics/colors/baits work at Hattie?

Ventured back out this weekend.
Kokes came through in schools between perch bites.
Kokes seemed active mid water column.
Preference was on tiny jigs (1/32-1/16) tipped with spike worms.
Gotta keep the tiny perch off your lure though.

Nice perch and kokes. I need to get up there. I like that there are small perch - maybe there is future for the glory perch days. Any pointers like depth or general location?

We setup between the boat ramp and dam over like 15'.
There were quite a few people out until the wind kicked up.
Might go chase em again on Sat. More wind forecasted of course.

Best of luck. And thank you. Wish I could make it this weekend.
