Gill,

After talking with 5 guys who fish Wheatland #1 quite often I get the feeling it is hit and miss sort of lake for Perch. They told me they tend to fish off the 2nd boat ramp in 15'-20' of water but weren't having much luck there so they were fishing near the pump house about 100 yards out in 15'-20' of water when they did catch some perch on 1/15. When we fished 1/16 and talked to them they were int eh same spot but didn't mark any perch.Wish I could be more help but I tried looking for them a little on 1/16 I didn't turn up anything....

Roads are dry as a bone. Crappies can be found my the trees that are in the lake, be careful though, the ice can be sketchy around them.

Also you'll find bass around the trees, note though, we snagged and lost several jigs which stinks and shaking the limbs/stuff scares the fish away but it only seems to momentarily.
