You're right, an excellent article on handling kokanee in warm weather. This applies to all salmonids when the water temps are approaching 70 or more.

I especially like this, “We recommend anglers catch their limit but limit their catch,”

Many anglers fail to realize Catch and release can kill more fish than just taking a limit and heading home.

I head up to fish the Gorge with my dad quite often. We don't catch and release on kokes for this exact reason.

Action was hot for us the week of the 13th of July about 2 miles south of Berriger's Crossing. Fishing a small pink maple leaf blade with a bladed either white and pink or all white squid about 12 inches behind tipped with powerbait maggots in either pink or green. Fished from 39-52 feet and caught fish, larger fish usually deeper. We fished from 160ft bottom to about 60ft bottom and caught fish. Bigger fish 2.5-4lb were usually caught early before to 30 minutes after sunrise. The 2 year old fish seemed to be more out in the middle of the of lake so we tried to say away from there since they were hitting super hot.

Both eat dam well though.
