1. No start time on a NR fishing license. They just go by the day and expire at midnight.
2. Plenty of license agents in Cheyenne (Walmart, Sportsman's Warehouse, Sports Authority, Game and Fish off I25, etc.). Laramie also has West Laramie Fly Store on Snowy Range Road if you are coming through Laramie as well as Walmart and other fishing shops. You also may be able to purchase and print daily licenses on the Game and Fish website. The annual licenses have to be mailed but I know daily bird licenses can be printed right away, so check that if it is more convenient for you.
3. Check the Curt Gowdy State Park website for the rules. As far as I know, alcohol is allowed (and not the watered down 3.2 crap) but no glass containers the last I knew.
4. Didn't know there was a check in time for camping, just pay by the night if there is a site available that you want when you arrive.
Fins up twhart for the reply We will actually be heading up for CFD on Thursday night and staying there till Friday we couldn't get the same spot for Saturday night, already paid when reservations were made and it said check in time at 3pm I was hoping to squeeze in a little sooner? It looks like we will plan on grabbing a license early Saturday morning somewhere close to the state park Again thanks for the info
I mainly fish Crystal and Granite during ice fishing season and mostly catch the stocker-sized rainbows and browns. The lakes are put and take lakes with lots of stockers. Game and Fish does stock retired brood fish each year, so people do catch some hogs from time to time, especially in winter and spring. North Crow Reservoir does not offer camping but is very close. The turn off is just west of the Granite Reservoir turn off and on the north/opposite side of Happy Jack Road/Highway 210. You will see the sign for it along the highway. It is a good road that leads back to the lake and it is only a few miles in. It has been my experience that North Crow gets better carryover of fish and you can catch some bigger fish. I haven't fished it for a few years but I used to catch nicer rainbows out of there and it also has grayling and splake.
