broken rod question about hattie and browns?

Post By: culinarypunk      Posted: 4/17/2014 10:25:05 AM     Points: 84484
Anyone have any info to help broken rod???

I usually love going after brown trout in the spring but right now my options are limited. Was thinking about heading into wyoming to fish hattie but it seems like most of the fish are rainbows? I prefer chucking jerkbaits and don't catch too many rainbows this way and prefer to target browns. Can anyone give insight into the number of brown trout present? Also curious if anyone knows if the road to High savery reservoir is open yet or if the reservoir is even ice free yet. Thanks for any help.

there are not that many of them, they stock about 5000 of them every other year or so, but there are a few big ones, it would'nt be my pick for Browns.

We fished Wheatland yesterday. We caught 2 fish from shore on flies. There is lots of green slime that fouls up the flies nearly every cast. Caught one Brown and one Rainbow, both about 20 inches and fat.
