Blog by: Matt Snider , CO 12/3/2023 (Return to blogs)
Part of Series: Winter Giveaway
What would a fishing event like the FishExplorer Winter Giveaway be without some high-end fishing rods, reels and line?  We've got a good selection for you this year.  Here are the partners:

Douglas Outdoors
As mentioned in our newcomers blog, I love this group.  Win a spinning rod from Douglas, a great all-around stick perfect for fish such as bass and walleye.  Website hereFacebook hereInstagram here. This will be addition to your rod lineup!

Elkhorn Rod & Reel
Elkhorn is back again, has been a partner for several years, and I am so glad they have been.  With a fly shop on the western edge of Loveland conveniently located in the direction of the Big Thompson Canyon and Rocky Mountain National Park, this group does it all.  They offer guided trips, have a big selection of fly-tying gear, and make their own line of rods. When you walk into the shop you know immediately these guys are diehard anglers. This year you can win one of their 8-wt 4-piece rods.  So awesome!  Visit their website and their Facebook and Instagram pages to keep up to date with Elkhorn events and news.

KastKing
Another newcomer! Read more about them in that blog. KastKing has a huge array of fishing gear for you and they're offering two winners each a $125 gift card to get whatever they want.  See it all on their website and visit their Facebook and Instagram accounts!

Monic Fly Lines
Back again, Monic, out of Boulder, CO, have been a mainstay in this contest for years.  They make terrific, high-floating, non-cracking fly lines and I am so thankful they support us. Good people, good products. Now is the time to replace your fly line as we're giving 2 winners their choice from the Monic catalog. For free. Visit them on their website, follow their Facebook and Instagram accounts.

Pure Fishing (Abu Garcia, Ugly Stik, etc.)
Another partner mentioned in the newcomers blog, Pure Fishing is full of brands you know and love.  They have an awesome prize package up for grabs highlighted by a new Abu Garcia Revo SX reel.  Check out their website, and the Abu Facebook and Instagram pages.

SCHEELS
The SCHEELS folks have been a longtime favorite in the FishExplorer Winter Giveaway, and I am grateful for their involvement! If you've never been you need to go visit their Johnstown location to the east of I-25 at Loveland.  They have it all.  Gifts, clothing, hunting, fishing, and even great food!  Even more so during the holiday season, it is a great trip for you and your shopping-loving friends and family. While someone else in your group is perusing golf outfits, you can hunker down in the expansive fishing department and create your list for Santa. This year we will grant two winners each a $100 gift card for use online or in-store for anything they want.  See the SCHEELS website here and join them on Facebook and Instagram

Oh so much to drool over.  Enjoy picking out your favorites. Good luck!

And while you're thinking about it, I know you are, consider a subscription to FxR+ to support FishExplorer. It means the world to us and will definitely up your fishing game! Thank you!

An advocate of alternative fly fishing and fisheries preservation, Matt is an avid wiper and muskie fisherman traveling with boat in tow in pursuit of these hard-to-find fish.
