Body Glove Mariner ISUP Winner

This giveaway was introduced to encourage reports on bodies of water as the season changed from late fall to early winter, an important time as conditions change drastically on the waters we fish.  I'd like to once again thank the folks at Body Glove for participating and offering a great prize for this campaign, the Mariner ISUP (the "I" is for "Inflatable".)  It is designed specifically for fishing, although I suppose it could be used for just paddling around if that's what you want to do. It has attachment points to add any of over 70 Railblaza fishing accessories, including rod holders, and it includes an anchor line guide system and cooler tie-downs.

During this campaign period, we had 1,315 reports approved for lakes and rivers, including conditions reports, water temperatures, water levels, and lake/river status.  Overall, there were 196 members that were eligible to win this prize. 220 lakes and rivers were updated during this period.

We randomly picked a report from the 1,315 entries, and the winner is...

Shawn, aka Tekmoney, from Colorado Springs, CO - who also happens to be Skipper on Manitou Lake.  You can tell by his picture he's super psyched!  Hopefully Shawn will share a little something and some pics when he gets the Mariner ISUP out this spring. 

So thank you all for your reports over this period... and importantly, for all the ongoing reports before and after this campaign.  It was the first time we've done this sort of giveaway and I hope to do it again in the future. When you get out fishing, remember to submit a report when you get back (or from the water).  It doesn't have to be sensitive information - we're looking for fishing-related observations like levels, temperatures, closures, food sources (bugs, baitfish, etc.), water clarity, ice, wind, and anything you can think of that will help out a fellow angler as we all plan our next fishing trip.

The 1,315 reports on 220 bodies of water over a 41 day period is good.  But we can do better.  We have 695 Colorado lakes and rivers activated on FishExplorer (sure, 87 are in RMNP and IPWA - kind of hard to keep updated, I get it.).  But only just under a third were updated during this period.  I'd love to break our all time record for reports in 2019.  To do that, the pace needs to pick up.  Having Skippers take responsibility for a lake or river near them or that they fish a lot is critical.  If you or someone you know would be a good Skipper, please apply.
