I hope you all have had a great end to the year 2018 and are off to a fantastic 2019. The
Winter Giveaway has ended, and so has the
Body Glove/FishExplorer Winter Reports Campaign. We had over 6,000 entries in the Winter Giveaway and over 1,300 lake and river reports submitted that are eligible for the
Body Glove Mariner ISUP prize.
Thank you to all who participated, and thank you to all the prize sponsors.
Body Glove came through in a big way to help get the reports rolling as this slow winter build-up on the front range kept things iffy until very recently. Please keep reporting as it looks like we're still on a roller-coaster ride with the lower elevation lakes melting and freezing.
We will pick winners for both contests next week and announce the winners on Tuesday Jan 8. Y'all cmon back now, ya hear?
Two days ago I was in bueno southern climes with highs in the 80's and lows in the 70's, a nice quick break for some R&R, not much fishing. We arrived back at DIA greeted with 6 degrees and a snow covered car. The folks in control must've gotten my letter for a cool-down to get our lower lakes freezing. Now I am off to Steamboat to fish the
Stagecoach ice tourney this weekend. And soon I hope to be fishing the
Saratoga ice contest and the
3 Lakes ice tournament. Then in February the
Wolford tourney in Kremmling. I don't fish these because I have any chance to win, in fact I've never even measured a fish at an ice contest, but I just think they're fun. And the hope is always there that I'll come away with something. Hopefully I'll see you at one of those.
I don't have much in the way of a singular topic here, just wanted to say happy new year and let you know the status of the contests. I wish you the best of luck in all of those!
