Bourbon, Cigars, and Fishing
Blog by: Lloyd Tackitt , Texas 1/16/2014
Bourbon, Cigars, and Fishing. They go together.
I couldn't separate them if I tried, and God help me, why would I try?
Whatever power created this blue jewel of a planet of beauty and life out of a cold cosmos, whether it be by design or by accident, no finer combination of ingredients can be found in the universe, or the periodic table than Bourbon, Cigars, and Fishing.
There's nothing else like being on a river alone, taking a break from catching fish, sitting on the bank smoking a good cigar and taking nips of fine whisky out of a flask. No sounds but nature's, no thoughts but the enjoyment of the moment, and the accessories. Bourbon and Cigars. The ultimate of ultimate pleasures in life. Bourbon, Cigars, and Fishing.
Hiked way back in, and way back out. Tired legs. Drive home, hot shower, recliner. Bourbon and Cigars. Comfortably tired from fishing, a warm house and a comfortable chair.
Maybe a nap.

To paraphrase a famous quote, I've spent a lot of money on bourbon, cigars and fishing. The rest I squandered.

I prefer good beer, Copenhagen, and fishing. The message is the same, just different ingredients.
There is nothing in life that could replace the tranquility of nature, it truly keeps me centered, it's not that I can't live with out it, it's that i won't.

Nothing sweeter than laying on a soft patch of grass, looking at the beautiful blue Colorado sky......and not missing the aweful ski traffic! LOL Great couple of paragraphs!
