The website is now responsive, meaning it should look and work just as fine on your desktop as it does on your phone. Basically everything on every page has been formatted to fit into a layout on any screen. Same Login: Nothing has changed in regards to your login. If you are having trouble logging in, please reset your password here.
You will notice that every member now has a Profile Page, not just editors. FxR+ subscribers, editors and contributors have additional control over the content on this page, like adding socials, personal photo gallery, and a bio. View yours using the link at the top of the page on desktop, or in the burger menu on mobile.
The navigation menu at the top of the screen is very similar to the original website. However it has changed quite a bit on your phone. You'll notice on smaller screens that there are 1-3 "burger" menus at the top and an account icon when you're logged in. Click on a burger menu to view a flyout of links. Click on the account icon to visit your account admin page. Click on the FishExplorer logo to return to the home page.
On mobile you will see two icons at the bottom of the screen when logged in. These will allow you to make a quick post or find lakes and rivers easily. They provide several options to hone your list: nearby, favorites, recents, etc.
Uploading photos has become more efficient. When you post a photo anywhere on the site you can now crop and rotate it during the process.
All the maps are the same, just updated a bit. The maps can now use your location (if you approve via browser prompt) to zoom into where you are. Every browser is different in how you manage these settings, but you can enable or disable location in each. They are also more easily usable on a phone - no more need for using two fingers to pan the map.
We figured it was time to retire the name "Skipper" and dub the role more in line with what it is - Skippers are now titled Field Editors.
We have removed the middle-tier Contributing Membership level. Instead, if you contribute reports you'll get the same or more features made available for a period of time just for reporting. You don't have to purchase this level anymore with points or dollars. Any members who were signed up for the Contributing Membership have had it canceled and set up with the full FxR+ for 1 month.
The forum got a facelift. Photo upload has been improved and expanded. You can now reply to a reply to keep side-tracking where it belongs. The FxR+ forum remains in development.
The account admin page has been cleaned up and streamlined. Visit it by using the account link or icon at the top of the site.
Flipping between states like CO and WY is now at the bottom of the desktop version and inside the main "burger" menu at top of the page on mobile.
There is a lot more, we don't need to cover it all here. Just give it a spin. You'll keep finding new things as you flip around the site.
