Lake Conroe
Lake Conroe was built in 1973 along the West Fork of the San Jacinto River as a water supply reservoir. Channel catfish are the most abundant game fish. However, bass and sunfish are the real draw. Twelve inch bluegills are not rare, and trophy largemouth bass over ten pounds are not uncommon.
