National Park Service Honors Memory of Seth Thomas Spradlin

BROOKLYN CENTER, MN - Wildlife Forever is pleased to announce the National Parks Service (NPS) sponsorship of the Seth Thomas Spradlin, Best of Show Award, the top honor given in the annual State-Fish Art® Contest. The "best of the best" is dedicated to and given in recognition of Seth’s extraordinary talent and conservation ethic.
BOS NATEAccording to the Alaska Region of the National Park Service "We are proud to support the State-Fish Art Contest from the Alaska Region as well as nationally. This is a wonderful tribute to Seth and his brother Neil. We are pleased to recognize these young men by preserving their legacy to inspire future conservationist to excel and achieve in the outdoor world. Thank you for honoring Seth Thomas Spradlin with the State-Fish Art Best of Show Award."
Seth won both the national Best of Show and The Art of Conservation Stamp Award in 2008 with his remarkable painting of a largemouth bass. In 2010, Seth was spending his second summer earning funds for college as a seasonal employee for the National Park Service in Alaska. He and his brother Neal perished in a bush plane accident near remote Katmai National Park.

About the State-Fish Art Contest The Wildlife Forever State-Fish Art Contest™ is entering its 19th year of bringing children, adults and aquatic conservation together through the Arts. To enter, young artists create an original art illustration of any official State-Fish and written words detailing its behavior, habitat, and efforts to conserve it. Entries are in four grade levels: K-3, 4-6, 7-9, and 10-12. Educators nationwide utilize Fish On!, the State-Fish Art Lesson Plan, combining the disciplines of science and art.
