Falcon Reservoir is a large reservoir (83,000 acres) impounding the Rio Grande River between the US and Mexico. Scenic desert rolling hills are covered by mesquite, huisache, wild olive, ebony, cactus, and native grasses. Falcon was built for conservation, irrigation, power, and flood control. If you plan on fishing the Mexico side you will need a Mexico fishing license.
To Falcon State Park per TPWD - From Zapata, take US Highway 83 to FM 2098, then go southwest for 3 miles to Park Road 46. From Roma, go 15 miles west on US Highway 83 to FM 2098 to Park Road 46.
