Heading for Rockport

Post By: Flyrodn      Posted: 12/30/2018 12:03:52 PM     Points: 184621
Been staying near Bastrop for the last month and Thursday we're hitching up and heading south to Rockport for most of January.

If anyone is in the area now or will be down that way during that period and would like a fishing buddy, let me know. One of the issues being a full-time RVer has been finding fishing partners. Other than visiting friends and family I've only managed to hook up with another angler one time in Ennis, MT.

As some will attest, fishing with me can be an adventure, as I'm a dedicated fly fisher with a high level of intensity.

Fishing around Bastrop has been decent, although I'm a bit disappointed that the rivers are running so high. It's been a wet December that's for sure.

Appreciate the thumbs up and hope to meet someone down there. I contacted the Rockport Fly Fishers, while I got a response it was weaker than I'd hoped for.

Head out tomorrow, and I'm hopeful the rains will let up and that we don't encounter flooding on the way. Can't believe the rain we've seen since getting here, three storm systems, all which appear to have deposited a months worth of precipitation.

Anyway, I'm still looking to meet someone in the Rockport, Port Aransas, Corpus Christi or other nearby places for a bit of fishing.

It has been an unusually wet winter, and doesn't seem to be letting up any time soon. Good luck in the salt!
