What is this mysterious noise I hear? Somewhat familiar yet alien to the ears lately. Similar to the sound of hooves hitting the prairie, not in unison or tempo more, like a herd of Bison swiftly moving on. The intensity varies, occasionally there is a lull as the herd briefly thins out then returns back to full.
Now it is calm so I look outside to see what condition the neighborhood is in. Seems for the most part it survived, a few trash cans have lost their composure and spilled their beans under pressure. There remains no evidence a herd has run by. Instead I see that the rain has come back to North Texas.
A smile comes across my face despite the grey day and drizzle. We need the rain. I will never take it for granted again. Common sense would be to remain inside and rest, however I am going to go out and play a bit. Will check on the feeder creeks to the lake to see how well they are flowing. Hopefully we can get the boat ramps back under water soon.
