So I'm from dfw and have been fishing fork for years, but I moved to west Texas recently and a buddy from work asked me to fish a tourney on ivie this sat. I have never been on ivie before and would like to know if the big femalesare trying to move up to the shallows yet? And if not, what are some good lures I should throw? I was thinking bout slow rolling a white spinnerbait around points, and have my partner throw a 10" power worm behind it. Whatcha think? Any suggestions? I have heard good things about ivie, I'm excited to finally fish it.

That sounds like a well thought out plan - would love to hear how it worked. This time of year in this temperature of water the fishing is a bit tweaky to figure out. If it was me, I'd find the warmest water on the lake and start there. I'd be looking for shallow water with a dark bottom that gets a lot of sunlight, has structure and a nearby deep drop-off. And that's where I would fish with something that I could move really slow. But that's just me, I do like the sound of your plan - please let us know how it worked out. Thanks!
