i have heard of people catching sandbass, but i have never been there when they were caught. i may try to fish that lake this spring. i fish mostly at livingston in the spring.

i fished texana today. we caught a few catfish. the water was muddy. i talked to a park host and he told me he usually catches a lot of crappie here, but everyone else is a catfisher. i could not find anyone who fishes for stripers.

I've caught the odd striper in the river here. I've heard, and read, that catching stripers below the spillway is fairly common - and some big ones at that. Apparently they sometimes make it through the water release channel then hang around feeding on the smaller fish that come through.
