Canyon Lake resources

Hey guys!

I applied to be skipper of Canyon Lake because I fish it regularly and live right on the lake. I will be posting fish photos and conditions whenever I go out on the lake.

I also spent quite a bit of time in Google Earth today working on Canyon Lake. If you go to the Earth Gallery in Google Earth and search for Texas Fishing, or Canyon Lake, you will find two files. One is the boat ramps, with info on hours, and fees. The other contains locations and descriptions of the underwater fish attractors places by the Army Corps of Engineers.

These files also have great links in them. I will include some nice links here too:

Army Corps of Engineers Canyon Lake website:

TPWD Canyon Lake Page (conditions, fish reports, maps, stocking levels, etc:
[log in for link]

County Engineers Office (boat ramp closures, park info, etc):

Come on up and fish the Lake. Let me know if you have any questions.

Another great resource I use to check lake levels across the state:

I took a walk down to boat ramp 5 today because my truck is in the shop and I can't go fishing. I was sitting on a rock on the south side of the boat ramp area and I watched several fish chasing bait fish around the inlet. I then watched in amazement as a 16-18" Guadalupe Bass came trolling the shoreline looking for a meal. I wish it wasn't a posted no fishing from the bank area....

Come on repair shop! I gotta go fishing!

Oy - I would quit walking down there if I could see fish that I wasn't allowed to fish for!
