Richland Chambers Report

Fishing Friends,

Sorry for not sending a Report for a couple of weeks, but we've been fortunate to have been on the Lake six days a week (and many days two trips a day) for the past Month! Richland Chambers Lake is absolutely FULL and still has the Spillway Gates open! I'm guessing we will see water being released for another couple of weeks as the two Feeder Lakes (Bardwell and Navarro Mills) are still over their Normal Pool Level. The water temperature is in the low 70's and the fishing has been very good the past two weeks. We did have a brief slow period with all the fresh water, but that's behind us and we're set for a GREAT remainder of the Spring!

The White Bass have nearly completed their spawn and are now aggressively feeding on the Main Lake Hot Spots (Pelican Island, Roadbeds and the Dogleg) and the Hybrid Striper action is getting better on the Hwy 309 Flats early each Morning. RSR Chartreuse Slabs ( [log in for link] )are still our "go to" bait, but we're now throwing some Rat-L-Traps at surface feeding fish. The Crappie are in the shallows and will be on their spawn for much of April. Small Minnows or Jigs under a cork in 2' water or less have been producing some nice catches.

It's time to get that Group or Family Outing planned and on the calendar. We're completely booked this week, but have Weekday openings the week of April 9th and on through out the month. Our only Saturday openings in the near future are the Afternoon of May 12th and the Morning of May 19th. We do have plenty of Saturdays open in June and July.

Give us a call at 903-389-4117 or e-mail us and we'll get you a current Fishing Report and set you up to do some Catchin'!

It's great to see this reports here. As site continues to grow the depth of information gets better all the time. A key feature and strength of Fish Explorer has been the membership itself, fishers helping fishers.
