Lake Livingston Striper: Well folks, it's that time of year; when the weather gets cooler the Striper (Striped Bass) move into shallower warmer water on Lake Livingston. They are normally found in the shallower water beneath the boat docks, but since the water level has been lower this year (currently, it's about 3' down) with the ongoing drought, the Striper are being caught on the Northwest Corner - Point Blank side approx 30 - 40 feet out.
What We're Cathing Them On: They are being caught on Zara Spooks and Rat-L-Traps. I prefer using the 5/8 oz. H20 Xpress Lipless Crankbait. They always appear to work best, but any brand of Rat-L-Trap will suffice. Colorwise, "Chartreuse" continually seems to be a Striper magnet; add a slow retrieve and you should be set!
