North Texas Catfishing Update

Fished Lake Worth and Eagle Mountain Lake both this week. Rain has helped both lakes and we got good runoff from the weather last weekend. The lake levels have come up which is very welcomed.

Catfish are scattered which is typical for this time of year. Both lakes fished pretty much the same, got bit and caught fish everywhere we fished but having to move around a lot to produce any decent numbers. This pattern will continue for the next couple of weeks until the water temperature drops some more unless we get a good consistent wind for several days. The wind direction has been changing almost daily of recent which doesn't help with the catfish being scattered.

I spent the day Friday with my new Humminbird 1198 doing some scouting and learning to use the new unit and caught some nice blue catfish and good numbers.

Fall catfishing will be here soon which means TROPHY CATFISH. If you want to get out on the water and land a trophy class blue catfish on rod and reel Fall and Winter is the time to do so. We catch big catfish all year long but the best opportunities come in the cooler months.

I will be on Eagle Mountain and Lake Worth this winter but plan on moving back to Lewisville as well. I have a scouting trip planned for Lewisville soon and will be available for guided catfish trips there this fall and winter also.
