Happy New Year Fish Explorers!
Happy new year to all of you - I hope your holidays were fantastic and your fishing phenomenal. We start 2016 as we do most years, by announcing the winners of the Winter Giveaway - which we will do on Wednesday. So stay tuned. It's my favorite time of year, and I hope you win something.
There is plenty of ice fishing going on here in Colorado with the recent cold snap that affected many states. Even on the front range we're seeing really good ice thicknesses. I've been able to get out on the hard stuff a couple of days over the break, trying to get the kids excited about getting out fishing (which is an ongoing challenge) and have had some moderate success. We've fished Sheldon Lk here in FC and up on Cameron pass in a couple of places. Done well enough, but I am still a newbie at this game. Best news is I think I got my wife somewhat hooked into the concept after she caught a few fish.
So slowly I forge my way into the ice sport. At the same time, days are getting longer which gets me all warm and fuzzy thinking about spring, and especially heading to Canada this summer for muskie.
And it also occurred to me that this year will mark our tenth birthday here at FishExplorer. April 2006 we came online. Need to think about celebrating that somehow.
In the meantime get out and fish and have a blast, and check in Wednesday for the Winter Giveaway winners announcement.
