New Article Posted - Spin Rippen'

Blog by: David Coulson , CO 10/11/2011 (Return to blogs)

One thing I love about fishing there is always something new to learn, whether it’s exploring new water, testing a new bait/fly/lure, or using a new technique.  It’s the later I’m pleased to announce we can help with.

I just posted a new article  by, Danny Barker, a Florida Field Editor, transplanted from California.  Danny introduces us to Rippin’ with spinning gear, a great tactic for wary bass under tough conditions.  If you’re wondering if it works, he has the proof in his personal best largemouth of 14 plus pounds.  A fish I, personally, can only dream about.

Have a look, as his article is a good read and will put another tool into your bass hunting bag of tricks.

Good article but it's been posted for a few days. I think Coulson gets nervous when his mug isn't in the top spot. :P

About the Author

To say fly fishing is a passion for Dave is an understatement, he lives by the adage, fly fishing isnt a matter of life or death, its much more important than that. Simply, if its a fish, then Daves willing to chase it on a fly. This includes making two or three trips a year out of state to places like Alaska, Canada, East and West Coasts to fly fish for salmon, northern pike and salt water species, such as redfish. The rest of the time Dave spends his time plying Colorado waters with a fly rod for everything the state has to offer such as bass, perch, crappie, bluegill, walleye, catfish, pike and yes even trout with a fly.
