The Butler Chain was formed as a result of a typical Florida occurrence, limestone is slowly dissolved by water to form sinkholes. A series of sinkholes formed over time created what is now called the Butler Chain of Lakes. Due to this phenomenon these lakes are deeper than most in Florida reaching depths of 20-40 feet.... Getting there:
The southern chain access is located at 10900 Chase Road at the R. D. Keene Park.
The northern chain access is found on Conroy Windermere Rd at the Lake Down Boat Ramp.
