Lake Kissimmee is world famous for it's catches of big largemouth bass, yet the fishing pressure is fairly light due to the expanse of vegetation. The lake was drawn down in 1995-1996. Part of the process in drawing down the lake included the creation of 24 miles of new shoreline, where the muck was scraped off the bottom of the lake to reveal clean sand underneath.... Getting there:
To get to Camp Mack River Resort: from Lake Wales. proceed east on US 60 to Boy Scout Road on the left. Turn left on Boy Scout Camp Road, travel 3.7 miles and take a right on Camp Mack Road. Proceed 6 miles to Camp Mack entrance.
Joe Overstreet Landing: take SR 523 to Joe Overstreet Rd right 5.5 miles to the ramp.
