Ran across this today, gives you a change in focus if you get bored with bass!

The guide’s best advice for potential Florida pickerel anglers: “Get some strong line and a short length of fine wire leader. Fish fast and hang on. Oh, yeah: Don’t put your fingers in its mouth.”

Ha! I know when I fish muskie, there's nothing I want to see less of than pike, but I guess on a slow day...

One toothy critter pickerel. Not much for size but they are aggressive buggers.

A lot of people get the chain pickerel mixed up with the alligator gar here in Florida. They are both slender with a long snout stuffed full of sharp teeth. Don't try and take the hooks out of these fish without a pair of pliers.
