Not much use for poachers

Post By: FishSalt      Posted: 2/1/2012 2:34:24 PM     Points: 775
Bounching around the web when I stumbled on the site and read the news bit on a poacher being caught. [log in for link] So I decided to register and speak my mind.

Have to wonder how many don't get caught, but then I know the answer to that one. Rather chaffs my butt that he's only looking at maybe a few hundred in fines. Doubt they'll throw his backside in jail.

As far as I'm concerned, poach and get caught you lose your hunting and fishing privileges, period. Either that or leave him in the Everglades for the boas.

To make a point about all poaching, they should be giving out the biggest fines and jail time possible for each case. It is out of hand these days to take more than the law allows when the limits are reasonable to start with.

I always keep this number handy: 888-404-FWCC, or *FWC or #FWC from cell. The reward money isnt great for basic stuff, but with all the gov money tied up in other things I think it is good to help.

That's a good idea. Call every time you see a poacher, and that's just what they are.

Need to start riding the commission to up the ante so violators get more than a slap on the wrist. Hell, I lose more at the card table then the fines.
