Today is the beginning of a new year for Colorado fishing licenses - you can purchase or renew yours today online on the
CPW website. That link should take you directly to the fishing license form. If you need additional licenses such as hunting, or need more information on the process or storing the license on your phone, you can
begin here.
Since, as CPW states, a license that you purchase online may take 10 days to reach you by mail, you can use a temporary number in place of the actual license.
Per the CPW website, "a temporary authorization number (TAN) can be used until the license(s) are received in the mail. The TAN is currently valid for 45 days after date of purchase. Please print or write down (must be legible) the TAN and carry it with you while fishing until you receive your license."
You can reach someone at (303) 297-1192 if you have questions.
Also note that a valid hunting or fishing license (or
SWA pass) is required for everyone 16 or older to access a State Wildlife area, and a valid fishing or hunting license is required to access a State Trust Land property.

Fishing with two rods on the ice, or trolling with two rods, or somehow casting two fly rods at the same time? Be sure to add a second rod stamp to your fishing license!
