Best Tasting Freshwater Fish?

Blog by: Lloyd Tackitt , Texas 12/5/2014
The best tasting freshwater fish?  In my opinion, best first...

Bluegill
Crappie
Channel Cat
-Then there's a big gap-
Bass

Saltwater fish?  I have no solid idea which ones are good and which one's aren't.  But I have eaten

King Mackerel
Dolphinfish

Of all the fish I've ever eaten I'll take bluegill every time, cooked with bone in of course.

Cold water walleye are pretty tough to beat, then crappie, then pike in the 5 lb+ size, (easier to remove the bones.)

For saltwater Cobia is on top with snook and flounder close behind.

Freshwater: IMO Nodak nailed it. Colder the water the better. Saltwater: Can't argue with hawghawler either. Rarely eat Snook but it is absolutely wonderful. Cobia and Flounder.... Mmmmmmm. Have to say, as much as I love fishing my freshwater lakes and rivers...saltwater fish fight twice as hard and taste twice as good.

Freshwater- Lake Perch has to be number 1, not only for people but ya ever notice how many lures come in a perch color? fish love em too.., then specks, walleye, shellcrackers and stripers or white bass Salt- Tough to beat a hogfish, grouper and snapper and flounder . MMMM tasty Side note, I hear Snook are good but I wouldn't kill one to eat... it's bad mojo If I had to pick only one it Lake Perch, all day...
