I have been fishing ever since I was old enough to hold a rod. I grew up in Laporte Colorado, and had family near Steamboat. Trout was my primary target in Colorado and Wyoming, but I had family in northern Michigan. I would always look forward to visiting out there, and my father would usually find time for us to go fishing for Northern Pike and Smallmouth Bass.
In my early 20's I spent almost every weekend in summer exploring alpine lakes, mostly in the Rawah and the Flat Tops wilderness areas. Once I had children I had to slow down on the alpine fishing, and have committed more to exploring fishing opportunities in my local area. This lead me to one of my greatest passions, and that is fly fishing for ALL species of fish, both warm and coldwater. I have become especially addicted to fly fishing for Carp, and am always looking to improve and learn more about this challenging method of fishing.
My focus is primarily on fly fishing, but I do occasionally fish with a spinning rod, and in winter I enjoy ice fishing. I also run a small YouTube channel as a hobby called Opportunity Fishing. If you have any questions about fishing in the Boulder/Longmont area, or want to chat about fly fishing for Carp please do feel free to reach out to me.
