2020 CPW survey by aquatic biologist Tyler Swarr Sportfishing Notes This section of the South Platte River is called the Dream Stream because of the large fish that migrate upstream from Elevenmile Reservoir. Although an ample number of resident fish are available all year, the best fishing occurs in March through early May and late September ...

Getting There:

From Colorado Springs take US 24 west, once at South Park turn left (south) on County Road 23, Continue until road "dead" ends on Rd 59, turn right and follow until road veers right to river. There is parking at river, or continue across river and turn right at next road for additional river acces.

From Denver take US 285 west to Fairplay. Continue west and turn right on State Road 9 to US 24 and turn east (right) to Hartsel. Continue east to County Rd 23 and follow above directions.
