Novice sportswomen invited to learn about angling and shotgun shooting at CPW's women-only 'Cast ‘n’ Blast' in Kremmling
CPW News Release
KREMMLING, Colo. – Colorado Parks and Wildlife will hold a women-only 'Cast 'n' Blast' seminar for novice sportswomen that are at least 18-years-old and would like to learn the basics of fly fishing and the proper use of shotguns in a comfortable setting. No experience or equipment is required.
The one-day class will take place Sunday, June 12, 8:30 a.m. to mid-afternoon in Kremmling. The class fee is $20 and pre-registration is required. Call Colorado Parks and Wildlife's Hot Sulphur Springs office at 970-725-6200 to register. Space is limited and available slots are expected to fill quickly.
"Be prepared to have a fun day and get a great introduction to hunting and fishing," said District Wildlife Manager Rachel Sralla, of Kremmling. "For many women, a class like this was the first step in what later became a lifelong passion."
Participants are reminded that the class is not a Hunter Education course, which is required to purchase a hunting license. To find a Hunter Education course, go to www.cpw.state.co.us/learn/Pages/HunterEducation.aspx, or call your local Colorado Parks and Wildlife office.
Anyone that attends should dress for the elements and bring all necessary supplies, including water, insect repellent and sunscreen. Lunch, snacks and drinks will be provided.
'Cast ‘n’ Blast' is offered through Colorado Parks and Wildlife's Hunter Outreach Program. The program includes workshops, clinics, seminars and educational hunts that focus on teaching the skills, ethics and traditions of hunting to novice youth and women.
