The City of Fort Collins will be creating a few deeper holes in the east pond on North Shields Ponds Natural Area to improve sport fishery habitat. The dredged soil and rock from the process will be used to create pads to improve bank fishing access.
Work will involve heavy equipment, but no road or trail closures will be needed. Anticipated start date is February 16 and work is expected to take a week to complete (weather dependent). North Shields Ponds Natural Area will continue to be open for public use during the sport fishery improvement work.
