Public advised portion of Chuck Lewis SWA will close for maintenance
Colorado Parks and Wildlife
The goal is to keep the public at a safe distance while CPW crews with heavy machinery begin a week-long maintenance project along the Yampa River's bank and channel.

The work is critical to maintain CPW's recently completed river restoration project and is scheduled to wrap-up Oct. 27.

The upper portions of the SWA, accessible from CR 14 and 14F, will remain open to the public however, visitors are advised to use caution, avoid work areas and observe all posted signs.

The Chuck Lewis SWA, located south of Steamboat Springs is owned by Colorado Parks and Wildlife and provides excellent wildlife viewing, fishing and waterfowl hunting opportunities for the public.

For more information about the project, contact CPW's Steamboat Springs Area office at 970-870-2197.
