Forest Service seeks input on Beaver Park Reservoir Project
Credit: News For Rio Grande National Forest
The reservoir is located approximately 5 miles south of South Fork on land managed by the Divide Ranger District.
The Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) holds an 1891 easement which allows for the inundation of Forest Service lands associated with Beaver Park Reservoir. There is a discrepancy between the easement boundary and the high water line at the reservoir’s decreed capacity. The CPW must obtain a permit to submerge the 17.5 acres of NFS land that are not covered in the original easement.
