Last night at 6 p.m., we bumped up releases from Ruedi Dam to the Fryingpan River to about 240 cfs.
The reason for the change is that flows in the Colorado River have dropped now that snowmelt and rain runoff have subsided. So, the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service has requested releases be made from Ruedi Reservoir for the Upper Colorado River Endangered Fish Recovery Program.
To learn more about Ruedi Reservoir operations, who takes water from the reservoir, and the Fish Recovery Program, please join us at our annual public meeting next week, August 13, at the Basalt Town Hall. We will start at 7 p.m. and go until about 8:30. We will recap runoff operations and give a preview for what we are expecting out of Ruedi for the end of summer and into the fall. After brief presentations from both Reclamation and the Fish & Wildlife Service, we'll have a question and answer session.
Hope to see you then! Kara
