GOULD, Colo. - State Forest State Park is experiencing heavy late season snow throughout the park, including the campgrounds. The Ranger Lakes, Bockman and North Michigan Reservoir south side campgrounds will likely remain closed through Memorial Day weekend. The Crags Campground will be closed until July 1 because of the snowpack. Reservations can be made for Ranger Lakes, Bockman and North Michigan Campgrounds for June 12 and the remainder of the summer.
Fishing at the State Forest will be limited to streams because North Michigan Reservoir and Ranger Lakes remain covered in ice. Streams are muddy and the water levels are high due to spring runoff. The ice cover will also prevent boating on North Michigan Reservoir. Motorized, as well as non-motorized trails, will open as conditions allow. Please check the Colorado State Parks website www.colorado.gov/parks http://www.colorado.gov/parks> for current State Forest State Park information.
