There is hardly enough ice left on Lake John to make a good cocktail. It'll probably be gone totally by morning. Over on the Delaney's, East should be ice free - had just a couple acres on Friday. Both North and South were about half open - maybe a little more - and should be better than that now. Saw an 8 pounder this morning from John, caught by Ford Williams on a fly. Friends of mine were up this weekend and nailed a 6 and a 7 pounder from John, also on flies. Got broken off three more times. Bait fishermen picking up some, but at this time the fish seem to want more bugs. The run is on. South has been doing well with some fish in the slot. Good quantities from East only much smaller fish. No word on North or Seymour. Cowdrey had winter problems, I'm sure they'll restock soon. I heard the road to Big Creek was open, but the lake is still iced over. Tiz' the season!
