Lake Pueblo State Park Offers Boating Safety Course

PUEBLO, Colo. - In Colorado, the operator of a motorboat, including a personal watercraft, must be at least 16 years old. Youngsters, 14-to-15-years-old, can operate a motorboat if they have completed a boat safety course. Lake Pueblo State Park will offer boating safety classes at the visitor center auditorium on June 13 from noon to 3 p.m., July 23 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., and August 28 from noon to 3 p.m. Adults who wish to brush up on boat operating skills or safety tips are also welcome to attend this class.
Students can register for the course by calling (303)791-1954 or by sending an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org. Include your name, address, contact phone number, date of birth, mailing address, number of manuals needed, and the location and date of the course you are interested in attending.
Manuals will be sent to the registered students. Students must read and study the Boating Safely in Colorado Manual PRIOR to attending the course.
Boat operator cards will be issued to students who attend the course and pass the final exam with a score of 70 percent or more. Students must bring their $15 registration fee and a 1-by-1-inch photo, which will be laminated onto their operator card.
