Just a quick note to announce that we are once again bringing water over from the West Slope of the Continental Divide via the Adams Tunnel. Diversions from the West Slope have been shut down since early in the morning on Thursday, September 12.
Maintenance at Marys Lake in Estes Park wrapped up this week and, as a result, we are bringing the water level of the small reservoir back up. To do that, we have opened the Alva B. Adams Tunnel a little bit and are running about 60 cubic-feet-per second through.
Most years, we begin refilling Horsetooth and Carter reservoirs in early-to-mid December by running a full 550 cfs through the tunnel. We are hoping to meet that schedule again this year. I am anticipating another update some time next week.
Happy Thanksgiving! --Kara
