KeepAmericaFishing Names "Queen of Fish"

Alexandria, VA - - All hail the Queen of Fish! KeepAmericaFishing™, the largest online angling advocacy community, is proud to announce that Kacey H. of Matlacha, Fla. was voted the 2013 "Queen of Fish." Out of 260 entries, Kacey's catch was voted #1 by thousands of anglers across the U.S. and by a panel of industry experts, fishing pros and staff. The 2013 inaugural King or Queen of Fish competition was KeepAmericaFishing's first photo contest in which its Facebook followers as well as other supporters and members were invited to upload a photo of their best catch of 2013 to vie for the top honor.

The Queen of Fish will be bestowed with a custom "fish" crown as well as $500 towards Okuma fishing products a Predator MX fishing kayak, paddle and personal flotation device (PFD), courtesy of Old Town Canoes & Kayaks a GoPro HERO3 Black Edition camera LCD touch BacPac a handlebar/seat post pole mount and grab bag of mounts to film her next adventure.
"I was so excited when I was notified that I was the winner," said Kacey. "I yelled to my mom who was in the other room and she asked what's wrong, and I said I won! I have never won anything in any contest before." A self-described avid angler of 17 years, Kacey caught her 13-pound redfish using an artificial shrimp on a jig head just off Florida's Pine Island Sound fishing from a small power boat.
The first runner-up, Justin H. of Jacksonville, Fla., will receive $300 towards Okuma merchandise a GoPro HERO3 Silver Edition camera and grab bag of mounts. Tina G. of Bonita Springs, Fla., the second runner-up, will also receive $100 towards Okuma merchandise and a GoPro HERO3 White Edition camera.
"We extend a special thanks to Okuma, Old Town Canoes & Kayaks and GoPro for their support and participation by providing these fine products for the Queen of Fish and the runners-up," said American Sportfishing Association (ASA) Vice President Gordon Robertson. ASA is the parent organization for KeepAmericaFishing.
Robertson further noted, "For our first contest, we are very gratified by the number of photo entries submitted by our Facebook followers and other KeepAmericaFishing supporters and advocates. It was great to see the vast array of fish that our followers and members caught in 2013."
Robertson concluded, "Next fall, the Queen of Fish will defend her crown when we open the competition to see who will be the King or Queen of Fish 2014. Be sure to photograph those great catches of 2014!"
