Larimer County Press Release
Larimer County Natural Resources’ volunteers joined the nation in celebrating Make A Difference Day.
For more than 20 years, USA Weekend Magazine and Points of Light have worked together to sponsor Make A Difference Day, the largest national day of community service. Millions of volunteers around the world unite in a common mission to improve the lives of others or their home community.

Larimer County volunteers cleared invasive buckthorn trees from Lions Open Space, repaired the damaged Nomad Trail at Horsetooth Mountain Open Space, removed volunteer cottonwood seedlings from the shores of Horsetooth Reservoir, and cleared debris and repaired flood damage trails at River Bluffs Open Space and trail.

Over 100 volunteers participated in the various projects over the week. Volunteers from Loveland Jr. ROTC, Daughters of the American Revolution, CSU and CSU Forestry, Loveland Lions Club, Front Range Community College, the Bug-A-Boo 4-H Club, Loveland Mountain Club, and Larimer County Project Team volunteers dedicated over 500 hours of service to the community during these events.

If you would like information on joining the Natural Resources Volunteer Team or participating in a project, contact Pam Mayhew at 970.619.4552 or email pmayhew@larimer.org
