PUEBLO — Along Colorado's Front Range, many anglers are heading south for the winter. A river runs through Pueblo, and the old steel city is becoming a worthy destination on the state's circuit of trout waters.
According to a 12-month creel census conducted by the Colorado Division of Wildlife in 2008, the Arkansas River below the Pueblo Dam attracted 17,000 fishermen. Though the majority were locals, a significant number were not. To some, the reason is obvious.
