As you know, we've entered our winter release from Ruedi Dam. We are currently releasing about 90 cfs.
The last week of October, releases will be decreased to 50 cfs so Colorado Parks & Wildlife can conduct a fish survey of the Fryingpan River below Ruedi Reservoir. The survey will last until October 30. Once it is completed, Ruedi will resume the 90 cfs winter release.
Fish and Wildlife is conducting the fish survey to monitor the fish population in the Gold Medal reach of the Fryingpan River. The data will also be used for the comprehensive study spreadheaded by the Roaring Fork Conservancy on the lower Fryingpan aquatic ecosystem.
Meanwhile, Ruedi Reservoir's water level elevation is slightly above average for this time of year.
I'll be out of the office the next two weeks, returning November 12. I will resume my e-mail notifications when I get back.
All the best, Kara
